This is Home - A Reflection on the Rattlesnake Creek

The sun is shining down on my back this cool morning.
The creek continues to run steadily over the rocks making the consistent sound of God.
Mint bushes and river rocks line the banks creating a resting place for weary travelers.
This is my home.
A place where bears roam for berries hidden under green leaves and minks play between the rocks.
The whitefish and trout hide beneath the surface of the water patiently waiting for water striders to float by.
I sit here and watch as nature sits still and moves south in a calm fury.
This is my home.
A place where people live up against nature, because they just can't get close enough.
Where every hidden Eden is just a few steps away.
To get there you can walk, run, bike, or drive, whatever mode makes you feel most at home.
This is my home.
A secret place where I can converse with God.
No texts, calls, or shouting, just us sitting on the creek bank watching spiders spin webs.
God brought me to this place, so I can listen, see and taste.
For the first time in my life, I feel like I've made it home.
